A new chapter in life!

In: Uncategorized

I honestly feel that with this website finally done, I am beginning a new chapter in my life. Firstly, thanks everyone for helping! (I had a few typos that I didn’t catch!) I know it’s not much to look at as far as extended content goes, but I just hope that you all appreciate all the hard work I put into making the site and blog aesthetically pleasing! I’ll be making more regular posts about my design work, life, and of course my main love: scooters.

Thanks everyone for being supportive and leave as much feedback as you would like as well as if you want to request a design on the contact us page. Thanks again!

…Finding the time to do them! I’ve been trying so SO hard to get this site to turn out awesome. And I think I’ve about achieved that. I’ve fixed the blog to look ALOT better than what it was, and all there is to do now is add a very simple sidebar and BAM! Done with the blog. I’m still trying to think about what to do with the contact part, but it works, so I’m happy. And there are many MANY images in my portfolio, so I’m about 30% done with the enlarged images. The .doc resume is done as well, so I think its just a good hour or two, and I’m done.

I realized how much I love designing and working on my own projects, so I am going to revamp Bluefox Digital not as a design company, but as a mainstream show to display tutorials. With live calls, user submissions, and contest, This will be the best design show on the INTERNETS! Stay tuned.

I also decided that I’m in charge of 4 blogs. 3 of which I must post regularly. So for me to post on here alot, I think the reasonable and smart thing to do is to just to vlog. (video blog for the not so tech savvy.) I think it’s time to put my mino into good use. What do you think?

New site! ( ONE YEAR LATER )

In: Uncategorized

oldsiteIt’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog post here, but hopefully with the new site, I will be more motivated to keep it updated with me and my life. So the short and skinny now a days, is that I’ve decided to give my site a decent facelift. The old site was awesome, but had alot of old work on it. The new site still has some work such as:

• The images in the portfolio need to actually link up to an enlarged version of the logo/image/misc. design.
• The .doc of my resume
• Fix up the blog to look how I actually want it to (I spent an hour just making it fit the design. I just gotta fine tune it now.)
• Fix up the contact page to not look like butt cheeks.

And yeah, I’m sure you are asking yourself, “Sean, why are you telling us these issues? Shouldn’t you fix these problems before publishing the site?” The fact is that yes, I probably should of waited. But I’m just too excited to show everyone. And also, Anyones personal site is always gonna be their “project mustang car”. It’s always gonna be a work in progress. But I’ll get it finished. No seriously. I will.

Outside of design, I’ve started a scooter club here in Utah called the Brigham’s Bees Scooter Club. The site was designed and built by me. What’s so cool about it, is the seamless integration of wordpress inside the static HTML and PHP code. The club itself is a blast, and if you ever have considered getting a scooter, I would suggest doing it. I know, I know, I’m a scooter fanatic, but just consider it. Go to your local dealer and just test drive one. After that, I won’t harp on you about getting one anymore. Promise.

I know I might of dropped off the internets, but I have/had to make a living folks! But soon enough, there will be streaming, shows about design, and so on. Stay tuned folks!

Road trips are fun but…

In: Uncategorized

… They can be quite tiring on the body. Plus, with 6000+ miles on my car, I’m a little worried about my Lancer. But with Scooter Quest wrapping up, I’m on the road parked at a crummy gas station, taking a break, and reminiscing over these past days of travel.

(For the readers not knowing what I’m talking about, head over to scooterquest.com and get a head full of knowledge on the travel log.)

First off, I have to say, road trips show your true colors It can change you too. I know I’ve grown from this experience! So with that said, I’m gonna take some time to relax and log these memories. For example, riding the scooter through Minneapolis was a site to behold. Cooking my own food over at the Boxcar in Wisconsin was fun! (Thanks Derrick!) And mainly, hanging out with my friends, Dustin and Michael.

Oh and on a personal note, to the completely adorable server named Katelyn, (hopefully I spelled it right!) Don’t be shy and drop a hello at my email ( sean [at] scooterquest.com ) or at my myspace over at myspace.com/seanblake. I would love to chat it up some more!

Scooter Quest has been quite the project over this spring/summer and my goodness, it has been so much fun preparing it.

Scooter Quest is an educational adventure from Minnesota to New York City entirely on fuel efficient scooters. We’ll be burning rubber for a good cause, spreading the news that scooters are a fun and easy way to get where you want to go, without forking out a lot of dough. “By coming together on the road we hope to show the rest of the United States that each of us can make a difference. It can begin with an eco-friendly alternative for road travel,“ says Sean Blake, one of the founders of Scooter Quest 2008.

Scooter Quest began, where else, on a scooter. In 2007, Dustin Saunders moved to Minnesota. Once he settled in, the love for his scooter he left in Utah was too much to bear. Dustin then traveled with his friends to Utah to pick it up, and drive the scooter back to Minnesota.

Scooter Quest was originally meant for family and friends to check to see how progress was going as the crew made it back from Utah, to Minnesota. Now, in 2008, Dustin, Michael, and I will take their scooters and venture across parts of the United States on an epic adventure of traveling, exploration and fun. The adventure begins on August 23rd, 2008 from Minneapolis, MN ending in New York, NY with checkpoints in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia along the way.

The scooters will be equipped with cameras streaming the entire event live on scooterquest.com! You’re able to come along on the ride through the latest in technological interactivity provided by Seero.com.

Our trip’s goal is three-fold:
• To show you don’t have to give up your freedom to travel due to high fuel prices
• You can conserve the Earth and protect the environment through more eco-friendly means
• You can still have fun while doing it

From one American to another, we are all suffering from these fuel prices. And with so many of us relying on our cars, we are slowly losing money that we all desperately need. Scooter Quest isn’t here to get you to replace a truck to haul equipment, or take your family to the movies, but it shows you can save money on all those trips you take on your own. And together we can all make a difference.
