With my old job, my work schedule was quite crazy! I really never had time to listen to favored podcasts, catch up on personal hobbies, and have much of a social life. So, I have been missing out. I mean, heck, look at my blog! Haven’t posted on my own blog in a LONG time!
As for everything else, I’m doing great! I’m very happy to be where I’m at in my career and I’m excited to find another awesome company to work for. I can’t wait to get back in an office chair to start making some sweet designs and get a steady paycheck! Don’t get me wrong, freelance designing is cool, but it’s not consistent. And besides, I like going into an office to work, rather than at my own home computer. It just feels better!
One thing I have reflected off of my past jobs is this. Communication is really REALLY important. I feel that I lacked in communicating when I first started doing graphic work. I didn’t give proper deadlines, or I would not ask the right questions to the client. Even with working inhouse with companies I wouldn’t communicate with my boss well with deadlines and how they want the site to function or look. Now, I feel that I can work well with co-workers and management alike. It’s amazing how much experience I’ve gained from changing that aspect of my career. And I feel that I leave an amazing impact on those I talk to when I communicate well.
With all of that said, I’m finally getting back to my many personal hobbies. For those wondering, Run Pixel Run is still happening. At this point, I don’t have a time set to release the show, but it will be out soon! I want it to reflect well and look very professional on both the video AND the website.
Well, that’s it for now! I’ll try to keep you all posted as to what’s going on with me. I tend to go in the lime light, and then dissipate into the internets for a while, but I’ll do my best to keep you all in the loop!
