P90X is on hold for a little…

Why? *sigh….* This is why. I unfortunately was involved in a car wreck. My scooter vs a 2011 Nissan something or other… And just when I thought that road rash was a bad idea!

I was on my way to work to grab my car and go home after what seemed like a terrible day. Just before the accident, I was talking to a co-worker saying “What else could go wrong?! Next thing you know, I’ll get in a terrible accident.”

Sure enough, I slammed into this car after some teenage kid decided to fail to give me the right of way and cut me off taking a left turn. When he saw me 15 feet from his car, thats when he hit his brakes, forcing me and my scooter to slam into his passenger side door. It was gnarly. I walked away with a dislocated shoulder, black and blue legs, and a destroyed scooter.

My Stella should pull through, but I’m up in a sling for 5 weeks. Wahoo! Ugh. I’ll be fine though folks! Just wait and see! :)

Day 4: Yoga?!

Day 4 on my P90X workout and I decided to try to start making my own food for a change. I go through alot of cash on healthy stuff, when I could be saving more by just cookin it! I started the cooking fest with some Salmon with lemon and garlic with a side of mashed potatoes. I’ve NEVER cooked fish before. So if some crazy brown kid like me can do it, the who can’t?!

I’m starting to notice my health take a crazy big increase. I feel more awake and aware of surroundings. I feel like this is a kind of lifestyle I can live with :)

I feel like I’m getting into the routine of my P90X journey, but I still have a LONG way to go. Yesterday was Yoga, and man it wasn’t like anything I anticipated. I’ve done my fair share of yoga, so when watching this video, I figured I’d be in good enough shape to pull off what they were.

Turns out, these people LOVE pushups and being on your hands every 5 seconds in “Plank”. I’m sorry, but this is NOT yoga. It’s just doing pushups followed BY YOGA. It’s messing with my still healing hand from my accident. So I ended up having to sit out on a chunk of the video because all they kept asking was for you to do pushups and put alot of weight on your hands. Not good.

A week later… (day 3)

So I restarted my workout… Yes, I failed to commit to just ONE WEEK of P90X but I am getting back on the horse till I succeed. It’s day 3 of my second try here and I didn’t make it through the Total Body Plus workout (Made it halfway through then had to take care of laundry). It bums me out because I feel like I just cheated myself.

I also feel like I’m cheating on myself with my surroundings. “.. uh what are you talking about Sean?” Well, I’m talking about what I eat and the condition of my work out environment.

I’ve created a checklist of things I need to do to get the most of my workouts. Right now, I’m trying to focus on a clean and organized environment. Having random bands and weights lying around just doesn’t do it for me. Plus, I have hardwood floors, so placing a bunch of rugs on the floor isn’t beneficial either.

Afterwards, I’m gonna focus on getting a good eating habit down. I have a bunch of awesome healthy and delicious meals lined up. I just need to be habitual about going out and getting the ingredients so I can cook em. I’ll update you all on my schedule as it becomes more natural to me. Can’t wait for tomorrows workout! Yoga? Sounds awesome!!!

Day 2: So far, so good.

So far, things are lookin good with P90X. I’m stopping here and there to catch a breather, but I’m keeping up with the video and I’m refusing myself to ever pausing it for personal breathers.. Yesterday, I ended up mowing/cleaning the front yard with my neighbor and got to such a late start on the first day, I wasn’t able to do the abs/core video. So today, I decided to pack the missed workout in the other TWO workouts I gotta do tonight. Considering that I gotta do abs/core twice, I’m not gonna be a happy camper in the morning. But it’s all worth it!

I had to put my wrist in a form fitting nylon glove so I could do pushups. The scarred part of the hand still gives me irritation when I apply alot of pressure on it, so I’m trying to keep it easy on the pushups… Outside of that, I realized that I need to drink WAY MORE water than I am right now. I feel terrible from hydration! Every time after the workout, I get some cold fluids in me and I feel great!

I’ve done my first two, so I got the last one to do. Intervals are rough. So far, that is the hardest workout I’ve done on here. Here’s hoping it gets easier as I get through the routines! POSITIVE THINKING!!!!

My 90 Hiatus from the world

So, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged about anything. Last post was about colossal failures. Well folks, I failed pretty hard. I ended up crashing on my scooter hard.

Yes, it hurt. Unfortunately, after all the healing, I was left with alot of scarring on my arms, and my wrist is still in healing mode. I realized that after the crash, I need to be more responsible with myself, and that I need to enjoy everything life has to offer.  So I decided to get physically fit first! And what batter way than the latest craze: P90X!

I’ve started P90X and will blog all 90 days about it to keep myself motivated.It’s late, and I need to sleep, so I’ll keep it short.
I wanted to do both workouts, but it’s late, and I need my sleep. Gonna do it in the morning. Worked up a good sweat. Arms are shot.

 

I’ll explain in more details as we go on through this 90 day experience!!!
